Influential UK based bar operator Jonathan Downey is set to re-launch his East Room venue under a yet to be decided title and in a new location. In March this year The East Room and Sosho were gutted by fire -  both were part of Downey’s Match Bar Group.

Of the re-launch, Downey stated; “We hope to have the lease signed and have started work on the new space very soon. Despite various delays, the licensing should now be a formality and are hoping to be opened in October.” Downey was also set to open a petite version of his Giant Robot venue - named Tiny Robot. The new addition will include an underground, members-only drinks club where you can enjoy sleek concoctions in secluded surroundings.

Further news is that Downey has already started work on another new members bar in E1 - complete with a 1am license. The name tipped for the new haunt is Danger of Death, but they’re not holding themselves to it just yet, so we will just have to wait and see what the man in charge decides on.
