High Fines for High Fives and Blue Lagoons

Who would think a blue drink could create so much trouble?

The Daily Telegraph reported today that two female bartenders from Campbelltown’s Wests Leauges Club have been fined $550 a-piece after serving a man who had just high fived one of his mates.

Ivan Pancho was escorted off the club’s premises by a undercover police officer after he high-fived a friend and then ordered a Blue Lagoon cocktail. The two barmaids who served the retro drink were then fined $550 each for their efforts.

The according to the Telegraph a staff insider said the Mr. Pacho, a 26-year-old disability worker, was a regular at the club, friendly, well behaved and was in no way intoxicated when he was marched from the premises.

Reportedly police later told the management of the premises that Mr. Pacho was clearly intoxicated because he had high-fived a fellow West Tigers fan just after the team had scored.

“A young lady came up to me and flashed her badge and said: ‘Your’e going to have to leave, you’re intxoicated’,” expained Pacho. “They told the manager that her grounds for kicking me out was I gave someone a high-five. Come on the West Tigers were playing.”

The Telegraph reported that the creators of the Blue Lagoon are challenging the fines in court while the Police refused to comment on the matter while the proceedings are being carried out.
